Extensions and Renovations

We specialise in significant home renovations and extensions.

This may mean adding 40-100+ sqm onto a house or involve extensive home renovations, including kitchen and bathroom renovations.

The cost of your renovation or extension will depend on the type of work being completed.

Adding a new wall to create a new bedroom will cost less than adding a new kitchen, bathroom or ensuite. Changing the external perimeter of your home requires an architect and engineer and therefore will increase costs.

Once the concept plans are completed and approved by you, we provide an accurate price estimate.

Once the fixed term contract is signed, we ask for a deposit of approximately 5% of the contract – never full payment in advance.

You will be billed at the completion of different stages throughout your build or renovation. This means when you receive a bill for painting or a roof, it has already been done.

Peace of mind

Yes – as a Master Builder our work is fully guaranteed with the 10 Year Master Build Guarantee. This is the most comprehensive 10 year residential building guarantee on the market:

  • Loss of deposit
  • Extra costs to complete the dwelling
  • Structural defects for 10 years including weather tightness
  • Non-structural defects for 10 years
  • Alternative accommodation requirements

This unique, independent building cover is only available if you build or renovate with an approved builder. Plus, if you sell your house within 10 years, the guarantee automatically passes over to the new owner.

Yes, definitely. Insurance is a must!

Before work can commence, we need a copy of the insurance certificate. If you’re not sure how to go about that – we’re more than happy to help.

To safeguard your investment, we always recommend having Contract Works Insurance in place from day one. This ensures your project reaches completion no matter what.

The Process

The first step is to talk to a reputable builder about what you want to do, what will work within your budget and who else you may need – e.g. draughtsperson, designer, architect, engineer.

Building is a team effort – one trade or profession can’t do it all themselves. Forming the team early benefits you – you’ll pay less in re-design, re-consent and other work which may eat into your budget.

For more information on how we work and what lays ahead, check out our Client Wrap Process.

This depends on the scope of your project. Adding a wet area or extending your home’s perimeter will require building consent. However, simple changes like adding a partial wall, may not require consent.

Once we know the scope of your home extension or renovation, we will advise whether any consents are needed.

This will depend on health and safety requirements. However if it is possible for you to remain in your home we can accommodate to this request.

At the beginning of every project, we provide an estimated timeline, including any significant milestones (e.g. move out, move back in dates).

We continue to review these dates as the project progresses, to allow for external factors. For example, if the house is due to be painted and plastered in winter, we will allow additional drying time. However any changes will be consistently communicated to you throughout the project.

Choosing the finishing touches can be a very enjoyable part of the process for you and yes, we can help. We connect you to amazing interior designers who bring all of your choices and decisions together to elevate your own taste and style. This is included in any build contract!
